Inspiration from Dyan Reaveley
Using Dyan’s ghosting technique with her ink sprays
Used up some more of the Pink Paislee resist sheet that I had colored with alcohol inks. Cut into strips, set slightly apart on card stock, some washi tape,Tim Holtz trim, a doily and butterfly. This will be good for birthday, best wishes etc. I often leave my cards without a sentiment so I can pick one that suits the occasion and person and just add a greeting
Again using the Hero Arts winter trees stamp this time black Archival ink onto Pink Paislee Artisan papers that have an embossed resist pattern that I applied alcohol inks to achieve a multi colored background resist.
I really like the versatility of this new stamp from Hero Arts. Used Black embossing ink with clear embossing powder. Then added peacock feathers distress ink and toned down with weathered wood distress ink and black soot distress ink
Last year my local nursing home was fortunate to be recipients of some beautiful handmade Christmas cards sent from many caring hearts across the USA in a card drive made possible by Jennifer Mcguire, Vera Yates, and Jana Millen. This year Vera is again spearheading it, ( http://lingshappyplace.blogspot.ca/2012/10/caring-hearts-card-drive.html ) so I am sending a batch of cards from my corner of the world. I saw first hand how the residents loved the random act of kindness idea, the joy of getting mail, the conversations sparked by notes sent from various areas in the states. It truly is worthwhile. I am a firm believer in Random Acts of Kindness, and there are so many kind people out there, let’s spread the joy!
Embossing folder first. An alcohol inked background with snowflakes heat embossed in purple on top
…another alcohol inked background, this time in reds with black Archival inked snowflakes. Then mounted on black cardstock with white heat embossed greeting
My Aunt is visiting from Vancouver and brought a card she found there that we all thought would be great to try. Shapes cut on sizzix rounded tags dies from white on kraft.
